1 of 10 Things I Love in No Particular Order

There is a fun little game going around Blogland called "10 things I love". I was invited by two wonderful blogs, The Ark Cottage Garden  and  The Whimsical Gardener. (Check them out!)

Here are the rules:
1) Inform who invited you
2) List 10 things you like to do (or love)
3) Invite another 10 other bloggers to do the same.

I am going to do this just a bit different and post each of the ten items one at a time. This way I can be long winded and show lots of pictures of each! I will try to keep it garden related to stick with the theme of my blog.

So here goes.....#1: Fall
The air turns crisp. The leaves transform into beautiful colors. And gardeners can relax, enjoy the show and start to plan for next year.

October Glory living up to the name.

This is a trumpet vine that seemed
to turn almost iridescent this fall.

More October Glory Foliage

Time for the aster to bloom. This one has become massive and has amazed me by not drooping this year. I bought a metal support at the Dollar Store and it did an incredible job of holding it up.
Well worth a buck!
Ok, so I'm milking the October Glory.
I can't help it. I love it!

Speaking of "love", this Colocasia had me at "hello and how much!" It doesn't matter, even though it was a great deal at Fry Road Nursery I would have paid much more! (Shhh...don't tell them that!)

One last shot of the October Glory.

Feel free to join in the "10 Things I love Game."
It's fun!

  4. What a wonderful surprise to see you've added a new post to your blog. I'd been checking back regularly after having read up on your archives. I absolutely love your innate sense of colour and how exquisitely you express yourself through this medium. You are a most talented young lady and it's a privilege to be able to enjoy your lovely, lovely garden with you. Thank you so much for sharing so generously!

  5. Dear Annie, I played this game, too, and agree it was fun. I listed my ten things all in one post, but my first was the fall colors. We are kindred spirits, I think. Your pictures are stunning. Pam x

  6. Hi Darla,
I'm not sure what kind of aster that is. I looked for the tag and couldn't find it. I did find tags for many many plants that I don't even remember planting and they seem to have disappeared because I don't have them in my garden now! Am I the only one who does that? Did I pull them thinking they were a weed in the spring? Or did they melt into the soil in the winter and never come back up? I bet they are somewhere with that missing sock in the dryer.

  8. Hi Pam,
You did play the game and very well indeed. I enjoyed your post about the 10 things you love to do. I really like the picture of your miniature horse and goat greeting you as you return from a trip. Very cute.

  9. Hi Annie, Thank you so much for the sweet and thoughtful comment you left on my blog today. You make me smile! Ok, so a couple of things, I totally would milk that October Glory if I had one so more power to you! And secondly, I have that Colocasia and don't you just LOVE it??! With the cooler weather mine has turned the deepest, darkest purple...deeper than an eggplant. I need to take a picture of it before the first freeze. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving! ~Cat
