A Few of My Favorite Plants

Amaranth "Love Lies Bleeding". It is just so unusual and makes you look twice. The dreadlock blooms are really heavy and definitely need staking. If that was my hair I would need something to help me prop up my head too!

Coreopsis "Ruby Frost". The color is so great and really pops. I just hope it proves to be Frost tolerant!

Strawflower. I love that it grows as a "dried flower". No work hanging it and making sure it doesn't get broken. It blooms and there ya go, a dried flower! How cool is that?

  2. Hi again Annie, I forgot to mention how much I enjoy your header photo. Nothing like a seriously rich piece of eye candy to get the reader hooked!!

Your love lies bleeding shot is perfect. It is indeed a stellar plant. I didn't grow it this year and now wish I would have...but where?

My fingers are crossed for your coreopsis. I shied away from this one for fear of winter-kill. Hopefully it will prove hardy. Please let me know. If it does indeed survive you can bet I'll have it in my garden next year.

That is the nicest strawflower display I've ever seen.

  3. Hi Annie,
I just came to your blog from a comment on Gardening With Grace because I liked the title. I see you just started blogging this summer. I've been at it for 2 and a half years. I'm starting to slow down a little, because of other things going on, but the cool thing about blogging is that you can spend lots of time on it, or take a break and come back to it.

I grow 2 of your 3 listed plants. I enjoy love lies bleeding, and grow strawflowers to dry, too. I've hung the love lies bleeding to dry before, as well, but haven't so far this year. I do grow a few varieties of coreopsis, but haven't seen those before. They sure are pretty. I hope they come back for you in the spring.
